Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your browser. AlleyCat also uses two similar technologies: local storage, which keeps small values on your own device, and the session storage your browser uses while a tab is open. This page describes what we actually place on your device — AlleyCat sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking pixels.

Essential. A cookie recording your cookie choices (so we don't ask again), and your signed-in session, which our authentication provider keeps in your browser's local storage. Without these you cannot stay signed in, and the banner would reappear on every page.

Preferences. Your theme (light or dark), whether you have already been asked for location permission, and small convenience values such as an unsent feedback draft and your "similar deals" display choice. These stay on your device.

Analytics. Off unless you turn it on. No analytics or measurement script is loaded, and no analytics event is sent, before you grant analytics consent. If you grant it and we have an analytics provider enabled, that provider's script is loaded then and its cookies may be set; withdrawing consent removes the script and clears those cookies on a best-effort basis.

When analytics is on, we record loyalty product-usage events: a receipt scan being started, needing confirmation, blocked, failed, or verified, and punches or rewards earned and redeemed.

These events include the business, punch and reward counts, and a short error reason. They never include your receipt images or card details, and they are only sent when analytics is on.

AlleyCat itself sets no third-party cookies. Third parties can set their own only when you use a feature that loads them: our payment provider during checkout and billing, and our maps provider when a map is displayed. Those providers act under their own privacy and cookie policies. We do not use advertising networks, ad retargeting, social media trackers or data brokers.

Analytics and preference cookies stay off until you turn them on. Open Cookie settings at any time to change your choices — you can also reach it from the footer of every page. Declining optional analytics never blocks AlleyCat: deals, wallet, punch cards, and notifications all keep working.

Most browsers also let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. You can usually block all cookies or only third-party cookies. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may break some features.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of AlleyCat after changes means you accept the updated policy.
